All Good Things Take Time …
This is what a new acquaintance shared with me a few weeks ago. I haven’t forgotten the statement since then. All good things take time.
Time. This priceless commodity we sometimes squander, can never replace, and often long for more of. Time. This space that allows us to create special memories, to know and love another, to be more attuned, as well as in tune, with ourselves. Time. This fleeting thing that we all seem to have the same amount of, that sometimes feels like it has been stolen away, that should be stewarded with great care.
Time. All good things take time.
I’ve been thinking about my time a lot more lately. What I do with my time. Who I invite to share my time. What I want my time to mean to and for others. How I can protect my time. How to live the full width of my time, regardless of the length.
All good things take time.
And I have been thinking about the really good things in my life. My home. My family. My career. My relationships. These have all taken a lot of precious time – and often sacrifice – to cultivate.
So these days I am investing a little more time in the things, the people, the places, the moments that feel good to me. All good things take time. In this season I am only giving my time and attention to those good things.
All good things take time. What good things are receiving the gift of your time?
