Other Places You Can Find My Work

Hello World,

We are back online! Thank you to my wonderful friend – tech guru extraordinaire – and amazing human being for getting my blog fully functioning again!

I have some stuff for y’all so stay tuned this week. But first, I want to share where you can find additional work by me and some other brilliant authors.

The first is Breonna Taylor and Me: Black Women, Racial Justice and Reclaiming Hope, edited by Angela Douglas Emmanuel Harris II.

This work was a labor of love. I originally drafted this chapter during the height of the pandemic for another edited volume. Thankfully, I could not finish the edits in time for that publication. “Breonna Taylor” is much is a perfect fit. I am featured along a series of other Black scholars, writers, advocates and thought-leaders. I am grateful to have this work out in the world and look forward to sharing it as often as possible.

The second piece is Sorority of Bereaved Mothers: Poems and Stories from Black Women on Pregnancy Loss and Infertility. This work was … HARD! Again, something I wrote during the pandemic when I was much more interested and attuned to sharing all the things. I wanted to tell a different story of infant loss. I wanted to speak to the women who do NOT go on to have a pregnancy and birthing dream fulfilled. I wanted to add my voice and my story to the countless others available. I wanted to let women know life DOES go on. Our hearts DO heal. We DO find other ways to experience love, joy, community, mothering AND mattering. Unfortunately, due to unexpected publication delays I ended up reading and rereading my chapter many more times that I desired. Even after the desire long left for me to keep talking about my experience with loss, I was still editing the chapter. BUT, it’s now out there and this collection is a beautiful compilation.

I hope you’ll support both projects, even if not purchased for you perhaps as a gift for someone else.

Until I write again, take good care!

XO,

Sabrina
