Full Circle Moments, Returning Home Seasons

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.”

It has been one full year since I relocated. Back to a place I fell in love with nearly 30 years ago. Back to people who have been a part of my life since my late teens. Back to familiar sounds and sites. Back to the cultural diversity of a vibrant, southern city. Back to walking trails and festivals. Back to global cuisines. Back to OPTIONS.

Last summer was a rediscovery of sorts … relearning this place. And relearning this version of ME in this place.

So much has changed over the 8 years I was away. And even with annual visits, there was and remains so much to explore. And me in this place.

What does it mean for this version of me who prefers movement? Early mornings. AND early nights. Healthy food options. JOY. Connection. Intentional COMMUNITY. Small, intimate crowds.

What does it mean for THIS version of me to resettle in THIS place?

This season feels very much like settling – RESETTLING – at home. The people I’ve been spending time with.

The places I’ve become accustomed to frequenting. The activities that have become a part of my norm. Even work – with SO VERY MUCH newness to acclimate to and adjust within – feels like home … for this season.

So, I’ve been reflecting. I’ve been giving thanks. I’ve been sitting in stillness. I’ve been embracing JOY. I’ve been leaning deeper in community and connection.

This feels like HOME. This feels like letting a lot of people and things go only to explore ALL the things. And eventually, find my way back.

Back to them. Back to this. Back to ME.

My heart feels calm. I am grateful.

I look forward to a summer of continued unfolding. And REST. And rebuilding a NEW life. One fit for this season. One made just for me. One that embraces who I am and all I am STILL to become. Welcome HOME.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be.
