Global Health | Health Disparities | Health and Religion

My teaching experiences include formal and informal instruction with middle school, high school, undergraduate and nontraditional students in the U.S., the U.K., and West Africa, as well as for women serving life sentences in a maximum security prison.
Today, my instruction focuses on three primary areas:

Global Health

Public Health & Religion
Public Health & Religion
Global Health
How do communities across the world gain access to care; what are the leading health disparities in the world; and how can I collaborate with others to increase access to undergraduate opportunities for service and study abroad?
Health Disparities
How do uninsured, underinsured and other marginalized populations within the U.S. gain access to care; in what ways can practitioners, policy makers, and communities ensure health equity; and how do we provide timely, affordable, and equitable care to the broader spectrum of the population who identify as women?
Public Health & Religion
How do subpopulations make decisions about their health based on religious and/or spiritual beliefs; what can faith-based communities do to address stigmatized diseases such as HIV; and how can health care professionals and faith leaders work together to develop health promotion programs, as well as practices, that integrate health and spirituality?
