CHOOSE Joy!

Hello World and welcome to 2022! For some of us, the year is not starting quite like we expected or had hoped. BUT for many of us, we are determined to not get caught in the throes of endless pandemic conversations. And for me specifically, I am committed to staying safe, actively taking measures to protect my health, as well as the health of others, while also intentionally creating moments of JOY

I am starting this year quite differently than I did last year. My one word for last year was wait. And wait I did. I shared some thoughts on my experiences with waiting in a series of social media posts. Last year I was knee-deep in launching my website and promoting my brand. As I mentioned in my last post, I was preparing to co-host a podcast, confirming speaking events for the year, and submitting several freelance writing pieces. I was busy in more ways than I imagined, doing what I love and moving with intention. 2021 did not disappoint. Even in the midst of the pandemic, I wrote and spoke more than I ever had or even imagined. I was doing all the things … life was going well. BUT I wasn’t laughing as much. I wasn’t playing as much. I wasn’t enjoying the journey as much. Fall changed all of this.

As we entered the last quarter of the year, my life began to shift. I start the new year in this place. I start this year without a laundry list of goals or resolutions. Instead, I start it with stillness. I am committed to not beginning anything new for the month of January. I am committed to slowly adjusting to this season and carefully considering what my heart-speak is for the year ahead. Even as I witness friends and associates launch new endeavors, I remain still. I remain present. I remain intentional. AND along with this practice, I fully embrace my one word for this year. I also invite you along for a journey of JOY. Each month this year – or as often as I can – I will be featuring a piece on JOY

Come along with me. Enjoy the ride. Stay for a bit.

With love,

Sabrina
